The Way We Celebrate Halloween

It's trick or treat tonight.Kids are getting ready for their basket to fill with a lot of candies.Wearing their different costumes is a lot of fun too. So nice when you have a kid because you can go with him or her in the neighborhood. It is how America celebrate their halloween.

In my own country, very much different.People would go to the cemetery even early dawn at exactly November 1st to visit their long dead relatives or family, they offer flowers and candles and pray a rosary for the soul or go to the main or big cross and say their prayers there. My family for sure went up to South of Cebu to my grandparents house to celebrate the Halloween with them.

I am pretty sure,my grandmother will have biko or bodbod, binignit and other Philippine delicacy to offer in the altar for the souls and the family will gather together at 8 o'clock and have a rosary. That is how they celebrate it and probably after a day or two they gonna go to the beach and weewww swimming..I missed it.I am not there,I am the only one missing to be there..argsss..

  1. Hi Byotipol,
Maganda pala ang tradition ninyo sa Cebu. Halos ganuon din sa ibang parte nang Pilipinas. Our celebration of Halloween is more solemn than there in the US. To us, it is more of honoring the dead than a joyous occasion for kids to get free treats from adults. Thanks for your post. Happy Halloween. Smile always. God bless and have a beautiful and wonderful day.
